Starting next week, Instagram said users will no longer shift the content to open an external link. Instead, the company gets rid of useful features and replaces it with a link sticker. Even though it will require users to knock instead of swipe, the company said it would offer the creator adjustment option.
News of the first change appeared through the threshold, which was reported to see a new banner advising users about changes. Instagram has confirmed the news, noting that the creator will be able to add link stickers to their stories that viewers can knock on external sites.
The big benefit here seems to be creator because the stickers allow them to adjust things about the appearance of the link. This is not the first link sticker will appear in the application – Instagram started a test involving them early this summer.
Instagram said that stickers work better for links by means of users now utilizing the platform. The platform will rotate this tappables sticker more broadly to the user, it also allows this user to respond to stories that have links – this is compared to large limitations with swipe stories.
Stickers will still be limited to certain users at least at first. Instagram limits the option of friction links for users who have 10,000 followers or more and the link stickers will come with the same limit. If you have swipe privileges, you will see a new sticker arrive at the end of this month.
