Facebook announced a recent crackdown on a dozen accounts responsible for “Super-head” misinformation on Covid-19 vaccines. Disposal also included bans on pages and groups related to CIVID-19 misinformation and “supersfeaders” that have been cited in a recent study on how the false news has spread online during The pandemic.
Earlier this year, a study has been published that simply people were responsible for most of the misleading Cvid-19 vaccine information inducing the spread of Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Speak Facebook on the study as part of its new announcement, alleging first that “there is no evidence to support this assertion”.
However, the social media company indicates that it has removed the accounts, as well as groups and pages, linked to the 12 users cited in the study. Beyond that, Facebook says it penalized about two dozen groups, pages and accounts associated with these users.
Because they have been penalized, groups, pages and accounts will not be present as high in news flows. By bypassing the above-mentioned study, Facebook Comptors claims by saying that the 12 people targeted by these shares were only 0.05% of “views of the content related to vaccination on facebook”.
Focusing on these 12 people miss the forest for trees … Since the beginning of the pandemic on all our platform, we have removed more than 3,000 accounts, pages and groups to repeatedly violate our rules against propagation misinformation of Covid-19 and vaccination and deleted more than 20 million content to break these rules
