It’s time to pack your smoke bombs, dust off your Katana and prepare your best Haikus. The ghost of Tsushima’s director’s cup is here, bringing upgrades of the next generation for PS5 players and a huge island to explore, no matter the console you play.
If you played the original version of last year, it’s frankly, more of the same thing. But when “even” is to be a badass samurai in one of the most beautiful game worlds ever rendered by Silicon? Well, Domo Arigato to Sucker Punch developers – we’ll take it.
First, what is changed for PS5 edition? Well, not a hell of many if you have already sampled the original PS4 game on a PS5, which has received a highlight of 60fps very impressive shortly after the launch of the PS5.
The PS5 version maintains the 60fps frame frequency (as well as improved dynamic resolution improved in a stricter way), adds in the haptic feedback of the Dualsense controller, provides a 3D spatial audio and accelerates the loading times of permission SSD. The following changes are subtle, but it is not totally unexpected – Ghost of Tsushima was already a breathtaking game, and those who expect intense graphic transformation.
As well as the full original game and the new DLC content, the director’s cup also start in a free technique, a new charm and a new set of skin, just to download the updated version of the game, as well as add A large number of requests synchronization option to Japanese lip for voice voice. There is also a multiplayer mode of co-op “legends”, although it was not available to test the pre-version, at the time of writing.
A whole new island
But the real addition for the return of fans is the vast Iki Island campaign. We will not grow deep over the content of the main match included here – you can consult our original ghost of Tsushima magazine for that. But enough to say, we loved it, allowing you to live your fantasies of samurai in a beautiful game soaked in blood.
The content of the Iki Island of the director’s cup, accessible from the act two of the main match (but probably the best played once you have finished the main campaign), takes place about five hours in length (and Much more completion) and weaves a large tale in the Tshushima scenario established. After having stumbled on some villagers driven angry by a new wave of Mongolian invaders, the protagonist Jin Sakai finds themselves shipwrecked on the South Island, led by the invasion, the shamanic eagle and its army. Drug Jin and provoking hallucinatory experiments, Jin will have to confront dark truths on his parents and conduct this new threat of Japan.
Shamans are the greatest new addition to fighting in the ghost of Tsushima. They are like polishing characters for your enemies, raising their aggression and resolve and really troublesome bloody. You will first chase these guys from a group, otherwise the fear of being overwhelmed by much more difficult grunts.
Although there are new sets of armor to find and that your basic skills can still be improved with the return of bamboo strikes, there is only one new technique to add to the arsenal from Jin this time. This is the load of the horse – hold L1 and your trusted stem galls through columns of enemies, damaging them and their compatriots run away from terror. It is a powerful and fun tool to activate, but a little under utilized. You would expect a lot of open combat space against larger enemy groups, but it does not really come, and the highly fortified camps that make up the main thrust of Jin’s bloodshed are not suitable in the fight on horseback. Nevertheless, it is practical when you run in a loose trope fleeing your sword.
