Google seems to be in the upcoming OS 3, but throws OS users who are on a few weeks ago. Some features towards the version of the platform that can be used will also find their way to the existing smartwatches. Fortunately, some application developers do not limit their new features to use OS 3, and Spotify has announced support listening offline which is needed which departs for all OS users. The update finally made its way to smartwatches, but some users seemed dissatisfied with some aspects.
The ability to play music directly from SmartWatch without a nearby smartphone is not a general use case, but it is possible because of the lack of extensive support. Streaming music is not an option for most smart watches that don’t have LTE connectivity, and some main streaming services offer the ability to download music to listen offline. Even Google Google itself only gets offline playback skills in updating updates to the Wear OS application.
That is the same promise with artificial spotification when Samsung launched the new Galaxy Watch 4, but also promised the same for the OS Smartwatches. Post on Reddit confirmed that the new Spotify Wear OS application has begun to slide to offer exactly that, although it doesn’t seem to sail smoothly for all users.
One user, in particular, noted that a significant battery disposal and sound quality problems use this offline mode. Others note that Bluetooth 4.2, which is a standard on longer watches, maybe blame the connection problem with a wireless headset. That said, not all users who got updates verifying the comments, so it might be hit or miss, depending on the smartwatch model.
Spotify offline listening support for OS Wear still requires a Premium Spotify account, of course, even though free users should be able to download podcasts too. It seems that users will be able to download the playlist instead of individual songs, requiring extra steps to set your favorites on your smartwatch OS before leaving.
