Duolingo updated with family plan, handwriting tool, and new languages

Duolingo Language Learning Application has announced major updates to its platform that adds two large features: a new family plan for users who have more than one student at home, as well as new tools that teach users how to write symbols and scripts for certain languages. Announcements come in detail about company technology and more.

During the Duocon event today, the Duolingo language learning company has announced new features and changes to its products, among others, including the addition of new languages and family plans. This update expands the application that has been strong, helping children and adults together learn new languages and improve their skills.

The new family plan allows up to six people to enjoy Duolingo plus the benefits of around $ 120 / year without the monthly package option. This is compared to Duolingo plus plan for $ 13 / month, which is only for one user. Families will be able to see the progress of each other and use shared devices.

As mentioned, Duolingo has added a new ‘handwriting’ tool that helps students master languages that use non-latin letters, including Greek, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Hindi and Arabic. This tool serves similar to written lessons found in competing language learning applications, which require users to track characters with their fingers on the screen.

Beyond that, Duolingo said it was preparing to add five more languages to the application: Haiti Creole, Zulu, Xhosa, Maori, and Tagalog. The South African organization was tapped to help Duolingo develop Xhosa and Zulu courses, increase access to South African.
