Confidential Details About the next EPYC 7004 Series CPU server “Genoa” AMD, so-called stolen by the actors of the Gigabyte Taiwan material manufacturer’s threat, seem to have been put online.
Following the Ransomware attack of last week, the actors of the threat revealed their booty contained all kinds of documents from different equipment manufacturers, including an American Megatrend debugging document, an Intel processor “Potential problems” document , an “Lake Sku Ice Battery Update Program”, and an AMD Revision Guide.
It seems gigabyte or did not engage with Ransomware operators or could not agree on a ransom. Regardless of what has transpired, the actors of the threat later all the documents discussed online after the expiry of the ransom period.
The German magazine ComputerBase apparently has documents published by them carefully the actors of the threat and revealed that a revision document of July 2021 describes a variety of technical details yet to be announced related to the CPU Epy Zen 4.
AMD put to the server space rule?
According to VideoCardz, the document describes the motherboard and revision of the thermal and power compatibility guidelines for ZEN CPUs 4, including the layout of the calculation tiles.
If the disclosed documents are to be believed, AMD is the number of Upping Core once again, and the ZEN 4 Genoa server CPU will be delivered with up to 96 cores and 192 threads an exorbitant amount. The documents also show the processor to be able to work with the 12-channel GDDR5 memory.
The calculation has increased to the detriment of increased energy consumption, and the documents show that the thermal design (TDP) of the Genoa CPUs will be between 320W to 400W.
Remember, however, that the authenticity of the documents has not yet been established, and the specifications can be very different when Genoa CPU has hit the shelves next year.
When contacted, an AMD representative said Techradar Pro the company “will not comment on the news of the flight at this time”.
